about gamespot vid

~2 minutes into the movie you see the guy shooting and blah balh and i think he kills someone. then you see (in red) the new conglomerate symbol and a +3. what is this? did he advance to level 3?

there are probably more questions i have as well as others. so i suppose this can be a general video question thread? whatever.
