This could bring more of a "raid" feeling to the game for those transfering from other MMO's.
Being able to place points on your map with dates X amount of players wanted, X people invited, date, time, goal for being there. Could be a good way to group up 40 people for something two days later so there isn't any waiting around for people to show up. |

Long story...
And I kind of do get what you mean but it is a function that could be solved easier by using a typical guild message of the day or an in-game outfit calendar. However I would imagine that the biggest outfits all have websites and forums that they would use to pre-plan and then use voip to carry out the plan. |

Just sounds like adding a date and time to the mission system to me...
Thinking about it, maybe you want to plan your missions out in advance rather than having them go live right away, right? I wouldnt call it a "raid" but it seems like a decent enough idea. I dont know why its not in the ideas subforum though... |

I see what you're getting at but the way that planetside works I don't think this would be a successful implementation.
Outfits will regularly run up to and wayyyyyy above 40 members (try hundreds) so organizing big attacks would be as simple as squadding with outfit members and then forming a platoon (probably 30 or more people in a platoon). All of those squads will have command structure and voip. In terms of planning missions ahead, I don't know if that would be too useful. But thats just me. Making WOWers feel more familiar with the game is cool and all but the game makes teamwork and organization so readily available already that your idea will happen easily without implementing an actual mechanic. |
