What is the logo for PS2 supposed to be?

I hate to be showing total ignorance, but it just looks like a 3 bladed boomerang or something to me.

Is it supposed to show a three sided something?

That's the Planetside Universe logo, the fansite's logo, and it's a warpgate.

PS2's logo is an orange eclipsed planet <.<
