ok before discovering the ps world I always thought that a persistent mmofps was impossible due to lag issues.
So I accepted with delusion the hotbar from elder scrolls online but now I see that ps2 works amazingly. Is there any difference between a bullet drop and a arrow one? From knife to sword/shield action? Has SOE some kind of hyper valuable pattent? there is a tech explanation? Because sincerely I would a 3 faction medieval game (not based on elder scrolls) more than Ps2 (just kind of taste nothing else) Thanks a lot to the person that will be able to explain me this |

PS1 works ok.
The internet is much faster than it used to be. So are computers. That's why PS2 will probably work fine. But I really don't understand what you're saying.

ok, what I meant why elder scrolls online( a new game coming) didn't keep his first person action and changed to a hotbars one when for ps the first person action works well? soo I wanted to ask if there was some big difference between the mechanics of PS (a shooter) and elder scrolls (ok no bullet but I don't think arrow mechanics are that different; or sword and shield being different from melee attack in ps2) since the only thing that comes to my brain is an hipotetic a SOE pattent that reduce the lag or that deals with it. I think PS2 changed from a PS1 refresh to a new game early 2011, compared to TESOnline which has been in development for a few years now. They may have close-ish release dates, but TESO was choosing it's foundations when FPS combat in an MMO was still questionable and while WoW was still the big thing.

Dam doing that they have ,in poor words, totaly killed the lore since it will be just another wow clone. And the lore will be hard to reuse in an another MMO
I will be waiting a PS2 clone in medieval lore (no fantasy) from now on my ideal game is always more and more near muhahahahahah |

I think it is safe to say SOE have spent a lot of effort building an engine capable of the massive player counts. You could almost say PS1 was a R&D project and without the knowledge gained from that they would not be where they are today.
Have you looked into Darkfall Online? It is Skill based and full PvP i.e. no safe zones and full looting.
