Hello everyone,
I will be playing PS2 when it's released and am looking for an outfit that knows how to have a good time but also be competitive. I get the most enjoyment out of organized play where the team members know how to work with one another but also don't throw a tantrum if things go wrong or we lose a fight. I was going to start a small air-only outfit that specialized in all forms of air combat and work along side other outfits. Are you an infantry outfit needing a lift from a few good pilots? Need ground support at a base? Need someone to protect your own galaxies/tanks as they advance? We'd be the outfit people would think of to call in and help. Now, I have a very busy career and so I feel I might not be able to dedicate enough hours to manage a web page, forum and recruitment campaigns so I am on the fence if this is a good idea or not. If I can find an NC outfit that is mature but also fun, I would definitely be open to joining with them if they could make use of me and would appreciate a mature, fun and organized pilot in their ranks. I see there are a lot of military players here and although I am sure they are great at games like this, a lot of them seem a little too hardcore for me and I feel they might take the game a wee bit serious for my liking. This isn't a jab, I just prefer to play with organized and easy-going people who are adults. Age:29 Hours per week: Varies but hopefully 20+ Skills: Right now? Total newb but I am committed to being competitive and always strive to improve. I am also a bomber/fighter pilot from Tribes 2 and had great success there. When the fight calls for it, I also enjoy more support oriented roles like the engineer/medic. I would probably be more of an engineer type though so I can repair my plane after a fight. Region:West Coast, GMT Mountain Time If anyone from Squad X reads this, I've seen you guys in a lot of these threads and am thinking you might be the best fit for me. Praetorian Guard looked attractive as well but they seemed much more infantry focused which I am not looking for So, do I try to join up with one of the NC outfits with an already large membership? Or am I better off proving myself with a small group of players first in my own outfit and then teaming up with larger outfits for organized play? Last edited by Comet; 2012-06-16 at 10:19 PM. |

Hello! My name is Boof (Boofed) and boy do I have news for you! I'm starting an all air-combat specialized outfit that is intended to be small and elite. I think you would be really interested in Crux. Let me know what you think!
See ya in game, ~Boof |

I just wanted to let you know that War Machine does have a dedicated air unit, based around the Liberator (maybe using the GG if it proves good enough) and Reavers. We call it the Strategic Operations Aviation Regiment. It does joint ops with the Armored Cavalry Regiment and the Mobile Infantry Regiment, but also does its own ops. We are organized in a military hierarchy, but that is mostly to avoid confusion and to facilitate rapid deployment.
We use TS3 and all members in scout or leadership roles must have mics. Also I was going to point out that Squad X was renamed to Outfit X. PG are also a solid outfit to join. |

I'm CO of a NC Air Cavalry Platoon that focus's on teamwork and we'd be happy to have a man with your attitude and skills.
I can tell ya right now that being a Benevolent Dictator is not a casual hobby, it's a lot of work mate, Especially initially. And especially if your serious about it. You'd be surprised just how much time we've put into our structures and Reading materials let alone the Site, I want everyone to know exactly what is expected of them before they step onto the field. And our Comrade Clan CO's have also been contributing to the Reading Materials which has been very handy. We need a whole bunch of dedicated Pilots of a bunch of different varieties to support our Airborne Ground Troops. I expect professionalism and self sufficiency on our Platoon outings but we'll be much more relaxed on our unscheduled outings. And simply jumping on with whoever is online at the time. You won't find a better Platoon for a newbie because of how much time and effort we're putting into developing our players. We've got handbooks for both the total newbie who needs to get skills and handbooks for the battle hardened pro who's looking to polish his skills. We want to be able to take a man that's never played FPS before, set them some reading materials, get em to practice for a few weeks, and turn them into a valuable member of the team. We've even got a few men willing to work 1 on 1 with players that need a bit of extra teaching. Your just another number to the other Outfits, we'll put the time and effort in to develop you and make you the player you can be. I'd prefer 60 dedicated, hardworking and loyal men who can work as part of a well oiled Aerial Killing Machine that can take on and beat twice their number than 600 casual guys who are there because the Uniforms pretty. Hope you decide to become a Jet Bastard mate. If you do file a recruitment form at : jetbastards.enjin.com there's even a bit of reading material on there even non Platoon Members can see to explain exactly what Air Cavalry is if your not too sure. Any inquiries send me a msg. |
