I know alot of MMOs reset the experience each player has earned after the beta so people dont start out super powerful when the game launches but i dont see as much of a need for that in PS2 seeing as how this game has "side grades" rather than "upgrades".
Im curious as to whether this will be implemented at the end of the PS2 beta. What do you guys think? |

There will probably several wipes during beta as they discover various gamebreaking bugs and exploits.
I imagine there may be one at the end, but Higby (or someone on the team) said they may not depending how it goes. |

After the closed betas, undoubtedly. Open betas/public betas? Tough to say.
Release for a F2P game thats been in public beta amounts to little more than removing the 'beta' disclaimer. I could definitely see them letting players keep their BR/CR so long as it wasn't artificially accelerated for testing purposes at that time. IIRC, when Tribes:Ascend released, public beta participants were able to keep their unlocks and whatnot. There had of course been several wipes beforehand as they progressed through stages of beta, but players at the tail end of the public beta definitely kept their progression through release. Open beta implies the game isn't balanced enough to launch. If it isn't balanced, things would be out of wack.
At least, that is the logic. It is a bit flimsy since it will undoubtedly never truly be balanced, and will undergo buffs and nerfs constantly. I suppose you could say these changes will be more drastic in open beta. |
