Signature size? Character limit

I went to make my signature smaller and it complained that it must be less than 450 characters. The links to threads are long and I don't want to use a URL shortener. Can that be reverted back? It looks like it was a recent change since my current signature is 840 characters. At least keep it at 1024 or something.

You should probably be limiting the vertical size of the signature via a max-height CSS with overflow. Don't rely on character count to limit it.

Still tweaking this, you can blame the people with bad taste in sig creation.
