Hi,
I was wondering about the veteran outfit distribution once the game start. Let's face it, veteran outfit, with experienced player base, training drill, schedule, logistic, etc... will have a edge that will take sometime to catch for new, non-ps1 outfit. If I was SOE, I would probably prefer them to be scattered accross multiple server so the gameplay level can be similar on multiple server. However, as a player, I definetly want outfit that used to stick together still stick together. Alot of major outfits created solid synergie. VS from Emerald are probably the best example (10-12 outfit scheduling regular event, and working together event during non-scheduled event). Players will probably want to maintain their love/hate relationship with ennemie factions outfits as well. (common, everybody stil want to kick Tigersmith ass!) Anyone else is worried/concerned/confused about this? |

they really may aswell, as it is each continent is just essentially another battlefield. you dont get any benfift from resources capped on another contenit. just make it one bug fucking lobby and you choose your own battleground, since sancs are gone.

If we have the ability to switch servers I really hope you just dont get a list of servers when you log in. You should always log right back into your home server just like any other mmo Ive ever played. But somewhere in your foothold should be something like the HART station where you can travel to another server.

I sincerely hope they don't allow you to keep switching servers. People will just end up going to the server where their empire is winning in order to gain more resources, it also takes the persistent world idea out of the game.
"OMG I lost this base, lets just jump into another server where we still have it". Also, yes I am sure the top outfits in each empire are already in communication and will all be joining the same server for the most competitive game experience. (glad I'm in one of them) |

I will eat my shoe if your resources are kept going from one server to another, thats just silly! |

Truth be told. quoting some very intelligent man somewhere on these forums. "Good PS1 outfit" doesn't define its goodness in PS2. We may see (an exaggerated example, of course) a pro counter-strike, TF2 or whatever team that's going to play PS for the first time in PS2, but will be raping everyone harder than the best NC outfit close-range.
EDIT: All the priority feedback we can give the devs is why something here and there was done better in PlanetSide 1. Last edited by NewSith; 2012-06-22 at 08:24 AM. |

You cant switch servers with the same character, you can make other characters on other servers though. They have said it will be 1 empire per server, how do they enforce that if you can just server hop with the same character?
As for resource gaining, its personal to your character, so if you move conts you keep your resources (again cant switch servers so that is moot). Gaining resources from land you own on other conts though they said will be looked at in beta, but I doubt you will gain them from a cont you're not on. OT: I have a few outfits I hope choose to play on the same server with/against each other, so I can play with/against them again. Last edited by DOUBLEXBAUGH; 2012-06-22 at 08:27 AM. |

One of the best examples I can give would be Korean Tera, I had 79-110ms on their launch day! And that from Austria, that's in the middle of Europe. Later once things settled down in that game I got a stable latency of 65-80ms, which is totally fine for a direct control game, were you had to dodge and aim yourself, so it had similar complexity than a shooter. I would like to see one big server, but I probably will see the classic SOE setup 2 US(east and west) servers and 1 EU server. With a very high chance your characters will be locked on their servers and no server switching. |
