The virtue of PATIENCE

The devs have stated they don't want to rush the game and would like to let everyone into beta as much or more so as everyone wants to get into beta. I, for one, am glad they've expressed an interest and concern over taking the time to get things right instead of rushing it to appease the fans. There's no competition pushing them to release first. There's no new console coming out they need to coincide the release date with. Nobody except those who have signed an NDA or are actively working on the game knows quite how things are going to work or play out once everyone starts playing the game. So please...HAVE PATIENCE. I find myself coming on these forums less and less because every day it's entire new pages of armchair quarterbacks griping about the game, calling out perceived flaws, and generally being loud and uninformed. I'm as eager as any to get into beta, and just built myself a new PC specifically for it (after not having touched a PC in over 5 years). But I would rather the devs take another 6 months to even begin beta than rush it and deliver a product they're less than comfortable with just to try and make the holiday rush.

So here's to the devs...cheers, thanks for all you've done so far, thanks for all you continue to do, and keep up the good work. I look forward to beta.

lol, i just want to point out that myself and many others frequenting this forums are only doing so because we are addicted to PS2 already and are waiting for our next fix and are basically here twitching in a fashion similar to cold turkey quitting for the next video, update, or Beta announcement.

But good job Devs! Good job and give us our fix! *twitch*

Ps: I'd also rather wait six months for a better game than a rushed product and hope that SOE can deliver, no matter how long it takes ^^

I wanna play!!!

I also will be waiting until AFTER the game releases to get a new PC. Top of the line stuff will be dirt cheap in a few months. It never fails.

I've also seen my activity go down recently, i think its more than anything because we all seem to be stumbling over the same subjects and going round in circles.. Having the same debates and arguments over and over that first appeared a year and a half ago.. I guess that's to be expected. There is after all only SO much we can talk about .

I wouldn't, quite honestly. I would prefer if they released CBT and THEN took 6 months time to use the feedback, polish and make ready for OBT.

thats what they said last years the gtx600 + line is out there and the asus gtx570 is still 330 $ in most retailers and websites lol and the gtx560ti is still in the 250 + to 320 $ range

also the i52500k is still 220 $ most of the time (( bulldozer launch was a failure )) so instead of thinking the price will magically i think you should be better to watch for sales on new eggs computer canada website like thats you have better chance to get good prices

the price as been almost fix the the last years !

Some components are more expensive now than before lol

If I am not able to play PS2 within 5 minutes, lasers are going to start shooting out of my eyeballs.

Good, I'll strap you onto the front of my Vanguard. Now I'll have both firepower and lasers(fancy glitter).

offcourse u get the betas to tweak stuff an maybe tweak the visuals but the beta is made to fix it as much as possible befor its release .Balance the game for a example is done in beta .Even the servers are only testable when its in some sort of beta (Stress test).

So u kinda need beta to finish the product.

Right now im testing (alpha testing )dust 514 on ps3 and they kinda need us to finish the game.

lolwuh? erm, huh? So far as I can gather, you're saying that Beta finishes the game. Well, I'm not opposed to that at all, either! Six more months of me playing Beta is still me fully supporting my position of waiting six months for a great game on release!

Though, I did see someone say it's better to have the game released on time, which yeah, a game released on time is a good game, but I want it to be spectacular to begin with and not still have that feeling of "Oh, it'll get better with updates". I understand where you're coming from, though.

Speaking for release, I agree.

But I think a closed beta should really start soon. And if not I expect a reasonably fixed date. I don't want to hear "soon" and "within the next weeks" for the entire year...
