Was anyone else getting lag spikes in populated areas tonight?
By lag spikes, i mean 5-10 second freezes with the 'Your connection has been lost' message up on the screen, with everyone running on the spot. I am playing from Europe with about 170ms constantly, maybe this has something to do it with it. This only happened in populated areas as well. |

There was a streaming event with Higby and TRay. The GMs decided to up the max population of each continent by 50%, so you had 1.5x as many people on Cyssor and the rest. That caused a couple crashes actually that you might have seen.

I can confirm that the 'Connection loss' messages started happening when they moved the servers. This was before heavy pops came back. And it happens to multiple people at the same time.
As for packet loss, I've been seeing that happen to me since the heavy pops started returning. My location is Houston, Texas... |

The server starts to spaz out long before it even hits the normal cap, so raising it beyond that is pretty much guaranteed to be horrible. The game is pretty much unplayable already once a base hits red alert with all the door bugs, term bugs, people disappearing/appearing in front of you, connection pauses... The only server being on the west coast doesn't help much either.
Just leave the normal caps to force most secondaries/tertiaries |
