Since they have hard points now it could be something that happens when you take critical damage to the weals or treads. It would be a nice touch for a car that drives over a landmine to swerve off a cliff or into a wall.

I did also suggest this, but for some reason, people think that this will deny them the kill xp from killing you, but what if the xp you got from disabling a vehicle was the same amount as killing you or destroying the vehicle, so that they don't miss out on anything, but can gain extra xp if they decide to chase you down and kill you while you land. I for one would love to beable save myself or my galaxy passengers by skillfully crash landing after being disabled. |

I don't think that this would be a good implementation or actually fit in the PS2 universe. We're talking about an age where people CAN manipulate black holes. I think it's easy to assume that they can manufacture aircraft that have at least one backup system for the aircraft/land vehicle control in case the first one is damaged.

Just have an out of control state that can be mitigated by having piloted skill. Bam. done. |

I think this state should not occur, or occur 'much weaker' when vehicles got
- Engineers - Infiltrator as pilot or driver. Just because they are the specialists for electronic and technical devices. So that it does really matter who is driving/flying. And I want that infiltrators can hack and hijack abandoned vehicles too!!! Its just totally annoying for me when I saw Beta-videos over and over, enemys came across this little bikes and no one even looked at them. And not destroyed them too, but who cares. Oh yeah im to dumb to drive another vehicle..., even tough im trained in infiltration. |

It's pretty clear why: I find any loss of player control maddening and annoying (T:A screencrack/shake, jam on my screen, Rogue stunlock, damaged inner ears from explosions, blindness). All these do is piss off the person that is inflicted with them and remove a player's agency in their own fate.

I loved when that used to happen in Planetside. When you were piloting an aircraft it always felt more epic to bail out of your spiraling plane. Now the pilot just AfterBurns to safetly with 1 HP left, or ABs over the AA Max that shot him down, Bails, then kills him with AV.
Aircav should absolutely lose control at extreamly low/criticle HP. Ground vehicles, not as much. Though i'd like to see System Damage on ground vehicles. (like the BFRs) Shooting the wheels slows you down or cripples your movement. Shooting the gun can damage its RoF or CoF, or even destroy it in some cases. Body shots can destroy Ammo, ect ect. |
