Should common pool vehicles get the choice of faction specific weapons?

I'm thinking this. For the Lightning example. Instead of the default autocannon, after a bit you can unlock faction specific weapons for your common pool lightning.

For example:

The Vanu's lightning would have a choice of putting on a Plasma Cannon

The NC's lightning would have a choice of putting on a Rail Gun

The TR's lightning would have a choice of putting on somthing rapid fire, hell maybe a giant anti-tank flamethrower would be fun and exciting.

I'm thinking this because it could give the factions more sense of identity. I mean, for Vanu for example, they use laser based things and yet the common pools which I think would be more in use than the faction specifics considering there are more common pools then there are faction specifics, from what I've seen anyway are shooting bullets, rockets etc which doesn't really fit the whole feel of the Vanu.

I think that having the choice of putting on faction specific weapons that are only available that particular faction's common pools (Vanu lightning get's Plasma Cannon) would help identify a faction on what they're all about a bit more.

As a Disclaimer: I could be wrong and devs might already have this in, iunno.

It would be a neat flavor type facet of the game.

EDIT: Maybe have the ES weapons be more powerful that standard ones and you only get them after certing so far into that vehicle...

I would not be at all surprised to see them... it'd be nice to see the Aurora and the Thunderer again, though the Raider needs tweaking.

Of course. If I had my way everything would be faction specific.

Of course not. If I had my way nothing would be faction specific.

(I'm fine with skins for the bullets and the model).

I think that would definitely spice it up a bit. Makes sense that a faction would take a standard vehicle and glue their purple space lasers (man portable Gatling rifle? Guass powered shotgun or whatever they use?) on it.

I'm pretty sure they do have faction specific weapons, as well as some common pool ones.

Or at least they are planned to at some point down the line.

I do hope they add this at a later date, I'd hope for a few different weapon types as well, then we could add a little more flavor and adapt our own vehicle pools for specific duties.

I can see them eventually remaking the Deliverer and its variants (Thunderer, Raider, Aurora) by doing something like this. You get the original Deliverer and you can customize it to essentially be a thunderer or w/e. Sunderer could maybe get empire specific "Leviathan/Vindicator/Juggernaut" cannons on top. Maybe they'll do it with buggies, this is just a hunch I have. Seems like the way things are going with all these customizations we've heard about in PS2
