Upgrades just for PS2?

I'm thinking of getting a new mouse / mousepad because my old mouse cost $9.95 and my table isn't particularly mouse friendly.

Then I thought I'd get a new monitor while I was at it. And hell, if I'm getting a new monitor, it just makes sense to get a new graphics card right?

But then the bottleneck would totally be the CPU. And RAM is so cheap these days. You can always add more RAM right?

So I started pricing all these things separately and found it's only a few hundred dollars to get a totally new system.

1. Has this happened to anybody else?
2. Seriously, can anyone recommend a mouse? I'm filthy rich, so don't worry about price.

How about listing you Spects, if you search a cheap very nice Gaming Monitor go for the AOC e2795Vh, but its only Full HD but only 200 €, i dont know what the price in Dollars.

As for Mouse buy a Speedpad I got mine 2003 its still fine

If you got big hands i think The XAI or Sensei from Steelsereis would be nice for you, smaller hands use Logitech

I also had a bunch of RAZOR Mices but they aren´t really stable :P so i go with the Sensei.

My Sytem is most of the Time, up to Date so i did not have such a Problem

I dont know depending on what you want, you buy your Parts, right

And yes im MR Smiley :P

My flatmate just spend £1300 on a new system, mainly for PS2.

As for mouse, I have tried many. The best I have used is the Logitech G700 (13 buttons, wireless). Build quality on all the Razer mice is pants.

Also for mouse mat I recommend Razer Sphex (basically a stick on mouse surface, super thin)

My wife has said I'm not allowed to retire any more computers till they turn 3 at least.

So that's out the window, but I can still get a mouse. I've heard the steelseries are boss and Razer are mean and nasty to their customers.

but really, I'm just interested to know if other people are looking at weak spots in their systems just because of wanting to play PS2.

I'm gonna buy a new computer to be able to play this. Although I was going to buy a new one anyway, regardless of Planetside 2.

The timing of beta determines when I will buy it though, as currently I have nothing else I want to play that would need a new computer.

My current one is 4/5 years old.

Aye, while I think Razer Naga has been the best mouse I've ever had it's probably not the ideal choice for a FPS game. Any Logitech & Steelseries should do, they're good brands.

As far as the mousemat goes, I've always used shitty mats, untill 2 years ago when I bought the Razer Destructor mat. One of the BEST investments I've ever done, hands down, without any doubt whatsoever. BUY IT! (Or some other mat of similar quality, it's sooo worth it.)

I'm on my third pc rebuild for PS2, have my main beast gaming rig and two other spares for when friends drop by, that and I have an aversion to family/friends messing around with MY computer, they simply cannot be trusted. Learned that the hard way.

also Logitech mice and Cyborg keyboards ftw
As i've been saying "damn glad this game is F2P, been very expensive getting ready for it" lol

There are ton of really competitive mice out there, most manufacturers gaming oriented stuff is generally similar spec and functionality-wise.

Biggest difference is usually the shape and weight of the mouse and the amount of buttons. This is something that's very specific to you, so if you get the chance, do try out different mice and find one which feels right in your hand and has the amount of buttons you like to have.

ps. don't overlook buttons for changing the DPI on the fly even if they might feel a bit useless at first for someone who hasn't used gaming mice
