Why the NC and VS hate each other.

I was doing a little reading and I started wondering why the NC and the VS were fighting instead of just teaming up and destroying the TR since they were both breakaway factions, and I came across this:

Though the fall of the Terran Republic still remains the New Conglomerate's primary goal, there is no small amount of the group's animosity directed at the Vanu Sovereignty, another cell to have splintered from the regime. It is the New Conglomerate's understanding that the Sovereignty holds alien-influenced views of the human race as a flawed species; one they are attempting to mold into something different–something alien–through genetic modification and experimentation.

Guided by the idea that humanity deserves to be free from outside influences to find its own path in the universe, the New Conglomerate has decided that the Vanu Sovereignty and Terran Republic alike must be stopped for good, and their crimes against liberty brought to an end.

Now this brings up a couple questions for me

1- Why do the NC care what the VS does? Why not just leave them alone and let them do their own thing instead of trying to force their ideals on us?
2- According to the lore, what started the fight between VS and NC? Who fired the first bullet?
3- Am I completely crazy for calling the NC Amish?

I will eventually get around to reading through all the lore but I want some other input

The NC hate them because they believe what they are doing is dangerous... Though starting a world war because you don't want to pay taxes and want to go out at night is also pretty dangerous.

The VS fired the first bullet, but it can easily be argued that they did it to protect themselves. Waiting for either the TR or NC to make the first attack after they had gained power would only make things more difficult.

Because VS tech is far superior to the NC tech. It would hurt the NC's profit margin. It'd be like when the iPod came out and all other cd players and crappy mp3's failed hardcore.

And I hate saying that, cause I really dislike apple. But you get the idea.

That is a pretty terrible example. There were Portable players that were far more advanced than the Ipod when it came out. They just didn't have the entire world under their boot like Apple does.

I'm pretty sure this is PS1 lore and therefore no longer applies. The only information we have for Planetside 2's situation is that the TR and NC had gone to war and the VS decided they both needed to be destroyed for the world to be saved...or humanity...or something.

I don't think we have any evidence that the TR or NC actually had any desire to hurt the VS, the VS just decided that everyone had to die for the world/humanity to be saved.

I really don't like they direction they're going with the Vanu. The whole, 'omfg worship aliens, we are cult!" attitude it has is silly. I can understand the other two factions viewing the VS in this way...but for the VS to actually be some silly alien cult isn't much fun. Makes them immoral.

From what I've seen, it looks like the TR and NC are standing up for their ideals while the VS are just throwing a pissy fit cause not everyone joined their cause.

what do you mean going with? they have always been a crazy alien cult. just shoot them. in this case it's ok to shoot someone else for being different. no one is going to judge. matter of factly if they are nc shoot them again after they die just cause.

It was this alteration of the human species that generated great suspicion of and ultimately a declaration of war upon the Sovereignty by the New Conglomerate, another faction which had splintered away from the oppressive Terran Republic and which saw the Sovereignty's modification programs as an affront to humankind's natural progression."

Whoever wrote the lore needs to be fired, because they clearly despise the NC.
