Hey, Hamma. I've recently been "upgraded" to two monitors in portrait mode at work. It's actually kind of a nice setup, with one exception -- sites that assume a window width that's, well, wider than the monitor.
Any chance of tweaking the board theme so it doesn't scroll on, say, a 1000-1050 pixel width? If I had to guess, I'd peg the current minimum width at 1100 and change. I imagine shrinking it down just slightly would also be a boon to folks who read on a phone/tablet without something like Tapatalk. |

We took a lot of time determining the width to use. We are pretty happy with the current width, only 2% of our traffic is using a resolution lower than 1280 but still tried to get most the content on screen for 1024. All of the content and content blocks and news media embeds have been designed to fit the current width, it isn't a quick edit to change the width. The old site was designed for 1024 10 years ago, we decided it was time to move on and have more room for content.

Fair enough, I know I'm in a minority now, lol. I just wasn't sure whether some of it (like the post bodies themselves) were dynamic and just keying off the width of stuff that can't go lower, etc.
Would an alternative theme that right-justifies left-column information (names, post time) be more feasible? |
