I'm not sure 1440x900 monitors exist at that size.
Case: Rosewill Future CPU: Intel 3570k Mobo: ASRock Z75 Pro3 RAM: G.Skill Value Series 8GB GPU: Sapphire HD 7850 GHz Edition OC HDD: Seagate Barracuda Green 1TB ODD: This Samsung thing PSU: Antec Neo Eco 520W That leaves you with around $150ish to get a 19" 1440x900, which seems to be as large a monitor as you can get with that resolution. It leaves you slightly overbudget (+$27.22), but if you bump this when you're ready to order we can repick parts based on whatever Newegg then has deals on. Mobo:ASrock z77 extreme
Ram: Gskill 8gb Case: Rosewill GPU: EVGA 670 GTX PSU: Antec Neo 620W CPU: i5 3570k HDD: Seagate 1TB Samsung DVD You could get a smaller HDD and a better case like the Storm Enforcer. Future upgrades could include SLI 670s and a better PSU. Last edited by vampyro; 2012-07-13 at 10:56 AM. |

Why do you think he needs to buy the monitor? It says he only needs the tower.
I like Vampyro's choices but go with this motherboard to save bucks. I don't see any good reason to the fancy one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157297 Then go with this memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233202 To bump you into DDR1600, because it's only $6 more compared to the G.Skill value stuff. Lian-Li cases are on sale if you're looking for something more classy This will be completely sufficient in the cooling department at stock speeds and even overclocked some: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112099 The others here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Li0712&x=0&y=0 EDIT: Er you can go with Vampyro's memory too, basically the same thing.

Well that'll teach me to make builds in the morning...
As with Rbstr, I'd downscale the motherboard. GPU: Get a Gigabyte or Asus 670, they're much quieter. PSU: I doubt you'll need anything beyond 550w for a 670 + 3570k. I'd put the extra money into buying a better power supply of that capacity (a modular one, too), rather than getting a 600w+ one. Last edited by Vancha; 2012-07-13 at 12:44 PM. |

I'm sorry for not clarifying i wasn't really paying attention when i posted that. I have a HPw1907 monitor native 1440x900 its 19'' I'm not sure why i thought it was 23'' haha. Thanks for all the input so a 670 is the way to go? I was looking after being directed towards a 570 and down the road if i ever needed i could SLI being the cheapest upgrade. Unless you believe a 670 is superior I will take your word for it. I have a Tech guy from work who can tell me about all the parts listed and if they will fit and work and i also believe he gets some of them wholesale. I just wanted to have you guys opinions of what would be the best gaming rig for the money as you all are knowledge in the area of hardware options for gaming (He does more office style server builds). That being said if i can get a legitament list to bring to him i should be all set.
Thanks. EDIT: I do have a 46'' Samsung that i occasionally hook up my current computer too for shits and gigs and may do the same with this new one. Last edited by Minigun; 2012-07-13 at 05:48 PM. |

The 670 is much better than a 570. The 570 isn't a bad choice if you want to save the money. I have one and I don't plan on replacing it soon. There's also the AMD option at $350 that's decent.
Don't worry about "adding SLi in the future" as so many people seem to want to do. IF you're going to SLi, do it now or very soon in the future. Any longer and your card starts to get out of date besides just raw power (new graphics technology, power usage and more). Even then, you still have the opportunity to SLi with the 670.

The 670 will be kind of overkill for your resolution actually, but it does mean you can run everything on ridiculously high settings (that might be good for PS2 actually, considering what we've heard).
It's late here, but I'll put up a detailed list of stuff in the morning. |

Total waste of money on a 670 for that resolution. GTX 560 Ti 384 or 7850 is plenty.

Awesome I would love nothing more than to run PS2 at "ridiculously" high settings because when i was younger i was playing PS1 at 4-15fps on low. I'll go ahead with the 670. Getting me very excited to bring this list to my guy to put it together . After i get a chance to look over all the builds posted and chose my options i'll give you my list for one last look over and the thumbs up. Thanks guys i really appreciate all of you going out of your way to help me out.
EDIT: I may upgrade my monitor in the future if you believe I'm on a slightly outdated resolution Last edited by Minigun; 2012-07-13 at 06:18 PM. |

Standard resolution these days is 1900x1080. If you plan to upgrade to that soonish, the 670 is ideal.
