Question regarding beta to launch transition

Will territory ownsership be reset upon launch or will it be transferred over from the beta? Which would you rather?

Yeah, it seems most likely that everything will be wiped prior to launch.

Some people say they might not wipe after open beta, but i suspect if there is going to be some kind of launch event they will most likely wipe everything to keep things fair for it.

I would highly highly doubt they wouldn't wipe everything.

You simply do not carry on unbalanced beta into balanced(lol) release.

They'll wipe everything. Characters, map progression, outfits, all of it.

^^^This... well, at least I hope so.

Can't remember the last time any company kept all the beta stats/progression when final was launched.

Tera just did it a few months ago (keep your open beta to release). I don't remember what all did, but there have been quite a few.

Many F2P games will do a wipe when transitioning from closed to open beta and then keep progress from open beta into release. Usually because they open up the microtransaction store in open beta.

The thing with a F2P game like Planetside having an open beta, if they just rolled right into launch--keeping all character progression and territory control--then the open beta would've technically been their launch. Likely, if they're going to iterate between the beta build(s) and the release build, they'll wipe progress.

If they dont wipe, i would like to have like cert point reset, ingame currency reset and bout weapons reset. So basicly you keep your progression that you earned but get a fresh start at launch to then go into what you want.

This is because with beta there are a lot of changes so a load out you may have loved could change and you find a new one. Decide that aircraft really arent your thing, or what have you.
