The Benchmarking Thread (Heaven & 3DMark11)

Well I ordered a HD 7950 a couple nights ago to have something to play with till PS2 came out and I've been overclocking. I've been using Heaven and 3DMark11 to test the overclocks. I figured I would post up my scores to compare them with everyone else here.

You can download Heaven & 3DMark11 for free.

My system:
Intel Core i5 2500K @ Stock (too hot to bother ocing)
MSI HD 7950 @ 1150MHz/stock ram clocks
MSI Z68MA-G45
Crucial M4 128GB SSD
GSkill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz RAM
WD Black 1TB HDD

This is my score for Heaven:

To keep Heaven comparable use the settings I did.

This is my score for 3DMark11:

With the free version there is only one bench setting with performance preset, so just run it. You can also just link your results, like mine. Its only viewable online anyway, heaven doesn't do this though.

I got a 7970 and a 7950 to play with, but my current system is only a Phenom II 955.

Tomorrow my new motherboard and CPU should come in. (Asus Maximus Gene-V and i5 3570k) so I will surely post results then. I will edit this post so dont delete it or anything.

Both Sapphire Dual-X OC Editions.

I should have got the MSI 7950 Twin Frozr III since the new models are shipping with 7970 PCB's, basically they have the same VRM's and power connectors as a 7970 and possibly will be able to be flashed with 7970 Bios's to unlock all shaders into a 7970. Similar to being able to unlock 6950's into 6970's.

Thats is the word on the street. No one has attempted as far as I know. I really don't want to brick my card though. If the clocks stay the same its probably only about a 5% boost in performance. No idea if overclocking will improve.

Bags I would of expected you to have a better score. Best not run everything like you were I guess. Most up some Heaven too.

Yeah, I would be scared to brick it too, I would wait for it to be confirmed by some other guinea pigs.

They should have included the dual bios feature that Sapphire uses so even if you brick one bios you can switch back to the other to unbrick it.

On the other hand, the 7950 and 7970 are within like 5% of each other at the same clockspeeds.

Yeah. I thought this had that feature actually. Was going to attempt it until I found out it didn't.

I had steam downloading, steam chat room open, 10 private chats, skype, and firefox using a gig of ram by itself.

Last time I tried Heaven it refused to work, said I didn't have the right... something, I can't recall now but googling the problem didn't find a solution.

okay, ran it again with no shit

3DMark11 doesn't always display the proper clocks I think. I don't have a chance in hell of beating the 680 score either lol.
