Technical Test transition to Closed Beta

Fairy simple question here:

Will the pool of applicants being admitted to the Technical Test have their flgged accounts carried over into closed beta, or

Will the slate be wiped clean and a new batch of invites be sent out for Closed Beta?

My curiosity stems from the fact that invites to the technical test seem to be completely random as opposed to how they have said they will be inviting people into closed beta.

As a side note, I do not care regardless of the answer... and no, I'm not upset that others are getting in to the technical test before me (a veteran). It would just be nice to have a solid answer from the Dev team.

Cheers.

I really doubt we'll ever see an answer on this one.

Too many bad feelings.

It would make sense to carry those people over into closed beta simply because they already have the game and have seen some of the things that need to be fixed.

Well considering those people are the true vets, I would say they get in automatically!

I think it's too nit-picky to be worried about IMO. They've already said the tech test invites are few and far between. Must be true since a lot here didn't get an invite yet.... Yes, beta invites are said to be in waves.... But how big of waves is yet to be determined... Might be very big waves and won't take a long time... Still, I think letting tech testers in with the rest of beta testers is going to be minor....

They are not completely random. They are in based on the comp specs we all filled out.

I doubt they are going to wipe it clean. Why get rid of players that already have the game downloaded and are able to run the game? I think wiping them out of it would only be done just to appease the bitterness felt by disgruntled, self entitled PS1 vets.

It makes sense to have those testers continue to test the game because, as you said, they are already familiar with the game and it's systems. However, I have seen it happen before where being in one part of the beta test does not guarantee testing the whole time. This is especially curious to me because they have said they are doing the "beta weekends" style first. That says to me that they will be testing specific systems each weekend. If this is true, you don't neccisarily need the same pool of applicants to test.

I.E.: Just because you tested vehicular combat last week doesn't mean you have any more knowledge to test this weeks infantry implant system than a new beta tester.

Sure, more than likely they will merge the technical testers into closed beta... I was just looking for a straightforward yes or no from the Guys.

Seems there will be many resets of characters, it may not happen at transition, or it might, but it will prolly happen at some point to you before release. but many may get to keep stuff from beta at release...

Tech testers won't be purged when they transition to beta. There is no official confirmation, but I'd be happy to bet absurd amounts of money on it. Companies never purge old testers when moving to a new stage of beta. Why would they? There is no rational reason to do so.

I don't think they start closing down accounts after the tech test.. makes no sense as it's a lot of unnecessary work for a game that requires a larger amount of testers than a normal beta test would... as stated by Higby in the video posted in this thread. Just leaving those accounts open for beta and invite new people as needed would be the efficient way of doing it.
Then again, they (the devs) might know something I don't, and maybe have a good reason for doing it... but I can also say this. If vets are pissed they didn't get in the tech test, which is a really, really, really small amount of people considering... imagine how the vets that GOT in would feel if they suddenly got shut out... just a thought.

I don't think the tech test guarantees getting into early rounds of the closed beta.
