Definition of "What is a PS1 Veteran!!!"

There seems to be some confusion about PS1 Vets and the PS2 Beta. Let me clear it up once and for all
There are going to be multiple phases of the beta. Simply put we are adding more people in different waves simply due to capacity

Every single PS1 player who has ever subscribed to the game will have their Station Account activated at some point during the beta
beginning with people who actively are subscribers. Again though we can only let in so many people during each phase so invitations
are by necessity going to be staggered. So basically if you've ever subbed to the game you're going to be in.

However current subs are in the front of the line for that. In addition we have Priority beta keys given out
they will be let in in the early phases as well. For people that ask me "I played from 2005-2007 am I in soon?" the answer is you will be in
in an early phase.

this is all going to be a moot point here soon as we just open the beta and start letting people in. I hope this helps.
I do apologize if it wasn't clearer sooner. This whole thing has an insane number of moving parts

here are just a few examples of those parts. Status of the build. Number of Beta servers in our multiple data centers worldwide
the amount of time it takes to deploy a build (7 gig copied to EU data center is NOT immediate despite some "experts" telling me otherwise
people's health (the team is pulling insane hours right now). Bugs. Bugs. More bugs.

And as that old saying goes.. the best laid battle plans go out the window the second the fight starts
there are days where we can't fix a critical bug in time to light the servers up on time so they are lit up late
we've launched 11 MMOs. Our deployment systems are world class but these are complicated beasties.

seriously the parsing is amazing. It's simple - active subs > anytime subbed > priority keys > normal signups

That's an interesting definition of veteran status. If this is true, then the pool of PS1 vets getting into beta is going to be much much smaller than people thought.

Yeah it would seem that SOE is drawing from a smaller pool for beta than I previously thought. I was wondering how they were going to pull so many users into "priority beta". They're like giving out 100 keys at a time on Twitter and what not, I thought it was madness.. now not so much. Man that first time I log on I will probably faint from excitement.

Poor phrasing on his part I think. Anyone subscribed before free time still means anybody who ever subscribed before free month. Unless they decided to change it and not include vets who stopped playing.

People actually subscribed before this free time was given is less than 1000. Some people have spent over a hundred dollars staying subscribed just for this since they mentioned it last year.
Anyone like how tribes allowed people in beta for $30? They got a lot of money out of that.

if you got the free days soe gave out, you are in the first line, and if you subscribed in the last year, you are second in line...

Completely wrong. Everyone and their mother got the free days that ever played PS, minus the scrubs a few years back with the 2 free weeks thing.
It goes like this.
If you were subbed BEFORE the free month, you are first.
Then if you were subbed in the past year is next.

no its people who were subscribed immediately before the free 30 days followed by those who were subscribed in the last year. If you played for any of the last 9 years but not this year you get nothing.

I read it the same - If you had an active sub before they gave out the free time, you're first. Followed by people who had active subs in the past year.

I can only assume following on from that are people that played prior to 2011...

Man... this has the potential to turn into a huge QQ session, given the number of people that played 5 years ago but still feel... heavily invested (read: entitled)... shall we say.

Sheesh. I was all excited about getting into beta. Guess since I wasn't subscribed this year I'm SOL. Should of just said PS1 recent subscribers.
