Camo

Tbh, I only see camo being especially useful at night, say going with the purple of the vanu or buying a black as heck suit to not have a giant silhouette, but that of course means switching camo regularly depending on the continent based on the day/night cycle.

Cause who wants to wear black in a desert durign the daytime?

Re: Camo

Switching camo isn't difficult. Takes like 7 or so mouse-clicks.

I'll have a jungle camo for Amerish and a snow camo for the ice planet (the name escapes me). I'll also probably fork over the money for purple digital "camo" since it's pretty. :3

Nights are supposedly going to be really dark so I doubt camouflage of any kind will make much of a difference.

Re: Camo

I think it's more intended to be style instead of practicality. We can outfit our soldier to help make him/her look more in tune with how we view him/her. Obviously some may have some impact on the game in some way, especially at night. But mostly...No matter how much green camo is on my Magrider...A floating tank is still incredibly out of place in the forest.

Here's to wishing I can turn all your camos off client side. Don't they dare say its not an advantage and its a bought one at that.

It's a bit of an advantage and it is bought. Which I suggest we derail this thread to discuss this because I haven't actually heard much discussion on this subject.

Will continent-specific camo be required for "optimal" loadouts?

I also highly doubt you can turn off other people's camo. That would defeat the purpose of camo being there.

Negating the usefulness of a micro-transaction item is ... bad for business.

I am hoping once you buy a camo, that camo is available for every class/weapon/vehicle and aircraft. I am not going to be happy if I need to buy for each and every tool I utilize.

I'm really curious on why you think using camo is a advantage in this game?

Camo. You hide with it. Harder to spot. An advantage. Geddit?

Because he thinks you blending into the background with a camo you bought with real money is a disadvantage to him. When in turn you shooting him in the ass is just as much a disadvantage to him as the camo.

Just think...Infils have the best camo of all. They can disappear completely, and it's free of charge!

If you really think that camo in this game will hide you or make you harder to spot, then I have nothing else to say.

Actually VS purple would probably serve better camo at night then black.

The point of camo is to break up your silhoutte and the night scene is largely dark blue. Colors like deep blue and deep purple will break up better then black which will stand out like a sore thumb in most environments.

And I think the camo will go a very long way towards giving you better cover and actually making it tougher to be seen.

I don't understand the attraction of digital camo. I always thought it only looked useful if your theater of operations was the original Nintendo Entertainment System.

Anyway, it's heyday is done. The US Army has dumped it.

It's not about usefulness. It's all about the style.
