Just thought of one nightmare scenario.
You load up a galaxy one person in your squad (the greiver) said he'll get there on his own. The gal is up in the air he kills himself to squad spawn. He intentionally pilots the drop pod into the galaxy. |

From the footage we have seen the drop pods maneuver but not so much as to hit a galaxy that's moving , even relatively slowly .
Maybe possible if the galaxy/other vehicle is stationary . Last edited by Maarvy; 2012-07-28 at 06:47 AM. |

For that to happen, the game would have to allow you to squad spawn on someone that is in a vehicle. And that's pretty unlikely, but even if it were possible to do it, drop pods would have to be VERY maneuverable in order to enter the game world high above a moving galaxy and still be able to hit it. The videos we've seen show drop pods taking about 10 seconds to come down, so let's assume that a drop pod is flying 2 drop pod seconds above the ground, and so it takes the drop pod 8 seconds to reach it. Galaxies may not be as fast as light jets like Reavers, but if a drop pod can maneuver so well that it can do this, then I would guess that spheres of influence would probably be ineffective too, as you would be able to stand outside of the SOI and people would be able to guide their drop pod 400 meters away from you and land right on a rooftop inside the SOI.
So basically, that seems like a pretty outrageous scenario concocted for reasons unknown. Last edited by Stardouser; 2012-07-28 at 08:56 AM. |

well ive seen in oneof the gameplay videos released a drop pod managed to hit a lib, and killed it in one shot with the drop pod.
i assume its possible, but i think its going to be vastly more luck then anything if it does happen. |

Then it becomes so much fun how casual drop pods drop will add grief points to you. Heck, lets just stand under drop pods to screw people.
We all know there needs to be compromises when it comes to drop pods, no need to try and deny it. |

Again with the drop pod rage? Seriously, it's not that big a deal, folks. I don't know why all the doomsday scenarios are being worried about. If anything was to be done, it would be taking steering away from the pod, which would solve 90% of potential griefing. Case closed.

-or- don't squad with randoms and join an organised outfit that won't be letting greenies into squad.

i thinnk that if it hits a vehicle, then it is also destroyed, killing the spawner, yeah sucks you died, but i wouldnt complain to much if by dying i killed a vanguard or gal. |
