The video i am gonna link now you HAVE TO REMEMBER is a FUTURE VISION and a little bit of parody of how it can be. But in the BASE - Think about it.....
FUTURE VISION = 10-15 years maybe But with the tech we have now this is very much possible i would say soon or in the near future MAX 10 years i would say. Well augmented reality is available today but only in very crude ways like the psp or through the ps3 and its pseye camera.
First step will be creating glasses that can handle the augmented graphics but its lot harder then it sounds because for the aug to be practical, there needs to be a camera that view the world exactly as you do. So these "glasses" are in fact just videoglasses that feeds from a camera positioned maybe inbetween your eyes. It will still make you feel enclosed and drastically reduce your field of view, it will not be like just wearing a pair of glasses. But when technology catches up we might get cheap small cameras with extreme resolution and wide enough field of view to match the human eye and by then the mico computer encoding the aug will be fast enough so the is no lag from the camera to the videofeed in your glasses. The it will work and we will be able to have animated, 3dimensional commercial media all around downtown. The whole city will be like reenacting "who framed roger rabbit"! Next step, probably alot further off then we think though, is implants like lenses. I was gonna insert the futurama "shut up and take my money" meme but i dont feel like googling it so nevvamind! |

i dont want anything i cant disconnect myself from, so this video doesn't really appeal to me. Google goggles on the other hand are fine.
