Planetside 2 Costumes

I've recently attended a Comic Con in London this year, I've been a huge anime fan all my life, and I was thinking in the future to attend a Comic Con in Cosplay form rather than my YouTube Shirt

I've been thinking about attending in a Planetside 2 Terran Republic Uniform of some sort. Wondering is there anywhere that will do this in future ? or already has plans for it ?

Something I would really like to try !

I do cosplay. Am working on an original Rexo and an original DC MAX. Obviously with PS2 coming out things will look differently.

Modern-looking armor would seem to be much more difficult to do than cloth costumes.

Paper mache or fiberglass maybe?

There was a thread about this. Some guy contacted the place that made HA armor for PS2 at E3. However he decided not to pursue farther when they told him the price tag was around 10,000-15,000 (can't remember the exact amount)

NC armor is easy to make. its all flat plates. just spray cardboard with metallic paint.

I'm planning to build the Terran Heavy Assault armour over the course of this year

It will be expensive and difficult, but so worth it

Ok, so it needs a bit of red paint trim and a fake pistol or ACE. But....nearly there!

Might get some pretty odd looks from the other convention goers. But well....er...oh for a real cloaking generator at that point.

I work with a bunch of nerds so I really want to go to work one day and creep around the office under a large cardboard box. When someone spots me, I'll just play the following sound on my mobile phone and run:

I agree with you 110% on the TR Inf looking like a gimp suit, but I dont think I would ever consider renting a gimp suit as I would only be left to wonder who had rented it before me and what had they been doing in it?

on a side note. Ive seen some pretty good looking warhammer 40k cosplays that pretty much prove how doable the max suits would be. If people can rig up some realistic looking space marine suits im sure the maxes wouldnt be much problem given some free time.

It's really not difficult. If you can rip the game files and turn them into Pepakura, you can print it out on cardstock, assemble it, and fibreglass it. That's how I made these:

i make carnival puppets as one part of my livin. am currently makin an 8 foot barbarian knight jobby. paper mache is well strong enough and super cheap (budget for entire project is about £50). i have a steel rucksack frame and am attachin everythin to it. the only issue with it is the waterproofin but i'm hopin yacht varnish will do the trick. i have never really thought of cosplay before (don't have many conventions in northern ireland) but was lookin at halo ones last night. http://www.squidoo.com/halo-armor-challenge some awesome ideas here.
