What are they fighting for?

Do the soldiers that joined either the T.R., V.S., or the N.C. know why they are fighting for them? Or did some or most soldiers pick those empires for there looks or weaponry. That is what i would like to know.

I'm fighting to have fun, frag a bunch of people I don't know, and help my faction control the planet. It's not like anybody's really going to be roleplaying or anything. This is an FPS after all.

Right now, i think most people do a good deal of looking, read the backstory and make a fairly well thought out decision weighing a lot of factors. Once the game comes out though, we're going to start seeing an influx of people who base their choice on the uniforms and a glance at the guns. Right now, there is a lot of trashtalk and sarcasm going around such TR being nazis, Vanu wear purple, so they must be gay, and my personnel favorite entry by the NC "\/\/3 will pwn Joo b3c4us3 w3 h4\/3 big gu|\|z," But once PS launches. i think were gonna start to see a lot of people who really believe trash like that.

Ill pick based on my playing style and how the game plays out. My sig may be NC, but if i like Vanu better im not gonna choose based on something i did before i played. Instead of worring about your empire, just play all three factions when you start, stay around in VR till you find what you like, and go from there.

Vanu got all pissy about the Republic not wanting to immidiately start fiddling with alien technology as they found it, so they stole all the alien tech and went to war. I know, doesn't make any sense to me either.

So I will base it round that:

Vanu part of TR wanted shit, but TR wanted nothing to do with it....so they split apart into the Vanu and stole the alien crud......theres so there is wanabe's, peace and freedom....I'm guessin NC had somthin to do with TR.....whats NC's story

At this time, mostly personal preference, and storyline.

For those intending to play with friends and current clans moving to planetside, then their race will be likely all be the same so its up to them to decide.

For those joining after release its likely to be dictated by the storyline, for those that read it and if they have friends already playing they may want to be with them.

Also numbers per team will have some influence over what team a n00b joins..
