ATM i own a 5 year old Acer m1640. the only thing i have done to it is upgraded to Win 7

Budget?
What CPU is actually in the thing? Do you already have a graphics card in there? This isn't a mid-tower is it? Are the cards only half height? That 250w powersupply isn't going to cut it for most decent video cards: Is yours full sized?

8800 is a legendary card series. Keep in mind the card is from 2006. It will run games, but probably more at default/low settings.
