Rate of Certification gain?

Have we heard anything about how fast it will take to gain a certification point, not taking boosts into account? Supposedly you can train certs "passively", similar to EVE online, but I'm still not sure what that entails exactly if you can also manually allot earned points. In PS you gained Certs one to one with Battle Rank, is it the same?

Edit: Sorry, on rethinking it, this is probably more appropriate for the new player questions forum.

I think it's something like one cert point every 10 minutes while you're offline, and you gain them faster while online, or something like that.

I hope this remains true to this day. Encourages playing but still helps you move forward if you have little time to play.

Although from the (what I thought I saw, could just be numbers or likely subject to change) it's going to take quite a bit to max something out. I thought I saw certs with like 99999.

Re: Rate of Certification gain?

All the certs set at 99999 are like that only as a way to disable them until later.

Also, battle ranks and cert points aren't linked or anything so you can have an indefinite amount of cert points without worrying there's a limit if say you hit max battle rank.

pretty sure Higby mentioned in an interview that they were "thinking about 1 cert to take 10 mins of play" ... that oviously is just an average..

...as for offline...?..who knows what the rate would be...up in the air question for beta I imagine

Does anyone know if there is some kind of benefit from gaining battle rank? I know that implant slots get unlocked with BR but apart from that?

right, but i thought you gained them slower offline. If youre trying to get certs for something, why make it easier if youre not even playing the game?
