new to PS? Try PS1

For Those of you who are new to the planetside universe.. You want to know what the hype is about but you cant get into the beta for a week or 2? well go try PS1 for a while.. you will see what its about.. there are still people playing and on top of that its still fun as hell. you may not have access to all the bells and whistles but atleast you will get a crashcourse in the game mechanics and not going in 100% blind to ps2.

Actually if you want to see what PS2 is about, you'd be better off playing BF3

Why? All the current Planetside 1 players got into the PS2 beta. I bet you PS1 is a giant ghost town.

I think what OP means is massive scale and to play PS1 to get some sort of perspective on how a meta-game is implemented currently for that type of scale. Also, so you can relate to what PS1 vets have experienced when you talk about scale and game-play.

Yeah, I've been playing PS1 for the last couple days now so I get a better handle on the whole idea of the game and how it works. Overall, it's actually a very good game, considering its age and there is still more than enough activity to find yourself in a big firefight. Instant Action is a godsend.

but i will get that initial feel of what PS2 is about in PS2 beta:o soo, paying money for a game that will be completely dead soon is stupid. even if just to get the feel of it.

Based on footage, it plays more like BF2. The BF3 destruction system broke the game.

IT seems to more like bc2 but with out boom boom boom. And destruction helped make the game different and succeed. THat was the major selling point of bc2 no mp game had done it well. It kept people from being able to camp all week in buildings, yes people still camped but it was easier to counter, that wall they are hiding behind is no more.
