Combined Arms Platform

picture this: weapons/support platforms that require multi unit interaction to erect.

Example One: Something like an FDU that you can only deploy one of. its gives you the option of what you want to deploy. then another player will deploy the same device to build onto yours, further completing the construction. then maybe a hacker would do his part, upload the data needed. building something like a M777 howitzer,

or a single "spawn tube" good for 25 spawns for your faction. would take like 2 engineers, a hacker, and a medic to program.

I see this as a great way to further increase player cohesion. you could be running around with your squad and just happen to see a fireteam somewhere that is setting up an arty cannon and YOU have the final piece to help them out.

these devices could be purchased with resources.

I literally just thought of this and havent thought a whole lot into it. tell me what you think?

LoL great minds do think alike. Can you picture having to gather 4 galaxies, 2 hackers, and a squad of engineers to create a warp gate? That would be awesome. I like it.

I'm not sure how I feel about all this working towards creating player cohesion rather than just gathering dust (which I feel would happen). Until beta gets blown open and significantly more people get let in, we won't have any way of knowing whether PS2 will end up with PS1-level cooperation or devolve into what Battlefield 3 has become (crossing my fingers that won't happen).

If the former turns out to be the case, this sounds like an incredible idea, don't get me wrong. I just feel like, if the game turns out to not have a cooperative playerbase, the devs putting resources into something that will never get used is a waste of time.

Maybe artillery could be based on this system, where hackers, engies and some other people set up a big gun that can fire about the radius of 2 hexes. Would take a relatively short time to construct, and has a moderate amount of HP that a couple Lib shots will be able to take down.

Just throwing this out there... don't mind me
