Hey guys, so right now I just upgraded to an Intel i5 2500k, ASRock H77M LGA 1155 Micro ATX motherboard, G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600 ram. I was wondering which budget video card I should go with to maximize performance.
EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Fermi 1GB 256bit GDDR5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130604 or EVGA GeForce GTX 480 Fermi 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130759 With that said, what type of FPS do you think I could hypothetically maintain on average in Planetside2 or even Battlefield 3? Thanks. |

The 480 is prob going to be the faster card, just. (esp at higher resolutions) but it is a big power hungry noisy mofo. I don't think the extra $40 is worth it.
If your heart is set on Nvidia Consider an overclocked 560Ti to edge over the 480 and come in under the 480s price This card looks like the sort of thing. 950Mhz core clock. (vs 850) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814500196 Otherwise at the ~$200 price point the 7850 is the best in most cases. (Though not in BF3) http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/549?vs=547
