Wipe after Closed Beta?

Strangely, I never found anything that said anything about whether the characters made in closed beta will be wiped in the official launch. I might just be that I don't have access to beta forums, but does anyone know what will happen?

I think you can count on a character wipe before launch, assuming they aren't allowing us to buy items from the in-game store with real station cash first.

I would expect to see character wipes fairly often, and at nearly all stages of beta.

Once they start taking our money though, then expect no more wipes. That would make peeps quite angry.

wipes will happen through out the beta test,and once the game launches,you have to start from step one again

I'm expecting characters to be wiped at every patch until release. Post-release I'm expecting them to be reset periodically but not wiped.

Not if they get a full station cash refund...

They might even like getting funds back to redistribute.

Your money won't 'disappear'

In fact, they'll be counting on some people using the store when they plug it all in so it can be... you know... tested.

It's pretty much standard policy to do a game wipe after different phases of beta testing.

If they allow for station cash purchases it's a no brainer that they'll re-add the "lost" money after either every wipe or at the end of the closed beta. Lots of other MMOs are using this exact method to encourage early spending (i.e. profit) and get free testing of the system as a bonus.

"Reset". Certification points and station cash spent to be refunded and available for re-use. This allows me to change my mind in case I made some horrible mistakes.

They don't get more profit though... as when the game then launches that player will have a sudden influx of cash to hold him off for a while.

It's more for testing that for early profit.... they need to make sure that ish is tight for launch... that's the LAST place they want there to be problems
