New build

Hey i want to make a new build i would like to use www.overclockers.co.uk to order from

1. Are you building this computer yourself or having one built for you (Like HP, Alienware, or even a small shop)?
Building it myself

2. What is your budget and does that include shipping/taxes?
2500 including tax

3. Where do you live (Please list town, state, and country)?
England, South East

4. What do you need this computer to do (like gaming, Photoshop, and so on)?
Gaming

5. What parts will you need for the computer? List what parts specifically, saying you need everything will not do.
Will be a fresh build i have monitor, mouse keyboard etc so will need a new case and the parts to go inside

6. Are you reusing any parts for this computer? If so say what parts (make and model). No

7. What kind of monitor/resolution do you have or want to get to use for the computer?
Have a BenQ xl2410T 120hz 23" monitor

8. Do you have already have a OS or do you need one? What OS is that?
Need new one

9. What are you looking for the motherboard to have feature wise? Like SLI, Crossfire, Firewire, USB 3.0, Sata 6.0 Gb/s, and so on.
Not to sure , defo want SLI tho

10. Any plans to overclock the CPU or GPU?
No plans yet but would it be able to be watercooled for my budget ?

11. What time kind of time frame are you planning on ordering these parts?
Hopefully within a few months

Misc Info
Re: New build

i5 3570
8gb DDR31600
Dual GTX670 or just get a GTX690?
Z77 motherboard of your liking
128gb SSD
A regular hard disk
750-800w PSU
Plus a case.

Should readily fit in 2500.

Are you dead set on overclockers? They reliably charge anywhere from a bit too much to way too much for most things.

Would that be with standard air cooling ?

Nope if you got any other good websites that would be cool

I don't think anyone knows much about water cooling here in terms of the parts you need. We can get a good build for you, but in terms of WCing setup you may need to get advice on that elsewhere.

You want SLi, so I'm assuming you put the priority on performance, rather than noise/power consumption?

Also, how long are you planning on having that £2500 last? For example, if you want it to last 5 years, you'd be better off getting a £1500 rig now and then spending £1000 on upgrades in 2-3 years, rather than just getting the best that £2500 can get you now.

Finally, I'd bump this or create a new thread closer to the time you want to buy. Prices could be very different in a few months.

Water cooling isn't essential I just wanted a change

I have a decent rig at the moment but it's AMD I wanted to go intel as I think that runs ps2 better ??

That didn't really answer anything I asked, but okay, what rig do you have at the moment?

I'm guessing Planetside 2's playable at decent settings with that rig?

Re: New build

Not atm as its only tech test and they are still sorting performance issues , it plays battlefield 3 with ease but that may not be a good thing to compare it too

Honestly, I'd wait until release, and if you still aren't getting the performance you want to be getting, then upgrade.

I haven't been able to play PS2 yet, but I'd have thought a 580 was more than comfortable with it, so even if you do end up needing to upgrade, a CPU and motherboard might be all you need.
