It's not the best game out there yet, but it's getting there.

Its great fun but I am looking forward to when they get more of the social stuff in the game.
As it is right now if you are a lonewolf like I am, it is quite hard to get into a organised squad. You really need to be in a outfit to be part of that properly. I can imagine in the future you can still squad up with people and be organised without necessearly have to be in a outfit. |

I'm enjoying it. At times there's flashes of brilliance in the kind of unscripted events that can take place or the large scale battles, and at other times you can feel a bit detached from it all, lacking a real aim or purpose.
I should stress that so far I have resisted joining an outfit as I wanted to get more comfortable with the game mechanics (I'm not a PS1 vet) and get a proper feel for the huge map and different classes, etc. However, during the times when I have been slung in with a communicative squad the fun factor has increased considerably so that's definitely the way to go. I've been enjoying the vehicles. About four or five of us on quad bikes got chased by a tank across a bridge the other day there which was a great adrenaline rush. I found the tanks quite easy and enjoyable to use, and while the aircraft take a good deal of practice to get used to when using the mouse (hopefully Joystick / controller support comes soon), they can also be fun once you get the hang of it. I'm confident that the PS2 crew have the right idea with the kind of things they are looking to add to improve the gameplay in the coming weeks and months and am sure this is going to be a game I'll be playing for a long time to come. |

It's glitchy, unoptimized, imbalanced, feature incomplete, and yet some of the most fun I've had in a while. It needs a lot of work, which means the devs and the community need to keep contributing to the development process with all we can offer, but as long as you can get past some of the current problems and technical limitations, it's a very promising and interesting experience.
Just don't go in expecting anything complete or long term satisfying. But like Nathaniak said above me, it's getting significantly better with almost every patch. |
