Instant Action and Lock Down

why is it so broken?

i click on one of the ! marks on the map or in the list and click instant action to jump right in, but every single time it sends me to a complete different place, very rarely it will send me to another ! mark but most of the times it will drop me off right in the middle off enemy territory where i can do nothing about the base there since i have no influence :S

also while playing last night, did they take out the lock down feature when you finish capturing the base and it has a timer for when no one else can take over?

IA should work like it did in PS1 (Automatically selects IA drop location for you) with one small tweak: It should pick out of a couple locations that have the most empire mates...

Instant action is a waste of time IMHO. I always get to the right place but normally on my own lol. They need to make it so you see where your faction is on the map. Then you can pick fights better. Iv been to places where a huge fight happening between my faction and say TR and it wasn't a instant action or on the map. I just fell I to it.

Also I think the lock down should be longer to keep the fight moving. 5 mins for large bases isn't long enough. I was fighting over the same base for near 4 hours last night. Swapping between NC and tr. lock the large ones for 15 mins or half an hour and smaller ones for 10-15 mins. This will make taking bases more tactical keep the fighting moving around the map more.

Take instant action out it defeats the purpose of planetside 2's core mechanic. Logistics. If you want men at a battlefield you have to drive them or fly them or walk them there no instant action bull.

if instant action is taken out then we deff need to be able to see where our faction is on the map. most great battles for our faction arnt even at the IA points.

Yeah seconding this, I tried out IA a few times but each time I got killed pretty quick cause I was surrounded. Perhaps if this auto spawned you into a gal near the action that way you could link up with your faction. I guess you would need to differentiate on who would be the pilot and make sure they didn't suck though.
