1. Needs the ability to fly with WASD and Arrow keys like Battlefield, it's much better using Arrow keys than the mouse. Right now the arrow keys don't have a useful function when flying.
2. Aircraft need to control in third person as they do in first because atm the camera stays upright and it's really off putting. The first thing any one I know does is put it straight into third person (well ask what's the button is first lol), then the next thing they do is either crash because it doesn't control how they expect, or they crash trying to land until you tell them it's Space and C lol. Then air flight would be perfect and come a longggggggg way since the alpha. |

1. Subset of the full fix, which is arbitrary input mapping to arbitrary axes. Wholly agreed with what you want, but let's take it all the way.
2. I don't fly in 3rd person (and don't think anyone else should either ), but if we're going to have it, yeah, the camera should roll with the wing tips. |

I agree with all of these, Ive got a joystick on the way going to see how that goes. So far Gal piloting is pretty easy with m+kb with its high inertia, however I get torn up trying to dog fight in small craft with picking up my mouse every second.

1. Sure, I have nothing against this.
2. No. They don't want people fighting in third person, locking the camera would make it extremely easy. It's the way it is now for a reason.

the most important thing they need is momentumn. It is kind of stale right now as a pilot, since you can stop on a dime, there is no way to outmaneuvre the enemy unless they have very little skill. Also, it provides a more fun challange and requires me to think my way through obstacles since overshooting would result in crashing. Right now, any mistake can be corrected by simply stopping in your tracks and turning the other way; it feels fake, strained, and is not fun.

I find it very hard to fly... I keep getting shot at by air hogs and assaulted by the ground
Yesterday this canyon wall just jumped out of no where, I'm at my wits end I tell you.

I'm a novice pilot but things are finally beginning to click, even with the mouse. Practice makes perfect.
First person definately the way to go for the most immersive experience; only time 3rd person is useful to me is during landing. |

Joystick integration needs finishing. Still can't use and high G monouvers with a mouse is a pain. As for momentum they have a lot. I was avoiding being shot at and I pulled up at high speed and belly slid into the ground lol. Do this alot as I'm used to running on rails like bf3 where they fly where you point them. Love the handling of aircraft just wish joysticks worked properly now.
Loving flying the reaver.

The craft actually do carry a fair amount of momentum through direction changes - I think what brighthand is looking for is gravity-based input into velocity, which is lacking. Diving for the deck happens as fast as zooming to the ceiling.

Using a mouse for aircraft controls is just intelligent design. It's a scale-able, accelerant controled, movement device. A mouse key is just sending a pulse of a signal to move, a predetermined amount of distance/speed, and you can hold it in. You just have more options to work with using a mouse or joystick.
Plus, you know A and D turn your craft, and W and S all ready control the throttle right? As for the 3rd person camera for aircraft, it's totally possible to master it. I guess it's easier for some, but just because everyone you know can't fly doesn't mean it should be changed. Flying is not something everyone should be able to do with no experience, it costs resources, has a long timer, has it's own extensive certifications, etc.
