Anyone know when this will hit the beta?
"1 - Resources are changing a bit. We've found that the current resource system can be a bit overwhelming and confusing to new and advanced users alike. To address this we're changing the resource system to make it a bit more approachable and immediately understandable. Resources will now be bucketed into three use categories, Aerospace Materials, Mechanized Materials and Infantry Materials. All aircraft will use Aerospace Materials, all Infantry consumables will use Infantry Materials, etc. This should help to make it more immediately obvious what the effects of capturing enemy resources is. Along with this the resources on the map have been rebalanced to make access to resources drive combat a bit better. Balancing this will be an ongoing effort. Auraxium will remain unchanged. " |

Due to the buddy codes, one of my friends just got in and he was asking me questions about the resources - and I said to not even bother as the system is getting overhauled.
Seems that they do main patches once every week or every other week with some hotfixes here and there, so maybe we will hear more about it pretty soon. |

Is this a real change, though ? Will you really experience a fundamental difference in your gameplay ? I dont think so: if you'd like to exclusively dogfight, you will not be spending your resources optimally and still run out of resources, if it's not your timer locking you out.
I'm a bit dismayed at how a game like starcraft 2 may have influenced the concepts of PS2. If they wanted to create a MMORTSFPS, they could have just inspired themselves from Savage and Savage 2. Conveniently one of them was free to play in its days ! @jaybonaut: "overhauled" is a bit strong. Minorly adjusted would represent reality more accurately.
