Is the $40 package worth it?

So i played planetside 1 for a trial about 2 years ago roughly and i loved the gameplay though it was a trial and you had to pay monthly so i didn't continue but since there's planetside 2 i am thinking about getting into beta with all the starter items and titles as well at $40 ingame currency might be worth it? should i buy it? even if i have a beta key to get in? and what if i dont have a beta key?

and how's the gameplay that you guys have experience so far

Just letting you know that this is a true beta. Meaning they do character wipes all the time. The prices of stuff go up and down. Things break often. Game play mechanics change. They want feedback about all these things when they make changes to them.

It's still a fun game if you have some time to waste. You'll want to group up with other players to get help on learning the game. There aren't too many in-game tutorials right now. There's some vids on Youtube that I hear help new players though.

I agree i have been in beta for tons of games and i do know that it's beta and it's meant for players to help to look for glitches and bugs but is the package worth it?

If you need a beta key and don't mind converting $40 into virtual money to spend on the game when it comes out? Yes, it's very much worth it.

No, it's not worth it, unless you want 4k SC for Everquest items or something

It's actually kind of tricky to say if it's worth it or not, because it's such a personal opinion.

If you just want to play/enjoy the game and are fine with the fact that you need a little bit more time to level up, then no, I don't think it's worth it. There's of course the 2nd main weapon for your class but I think it's gonna be 1 short + 1 long range weapon or similar to give you an option to choose between the 2 "extremes".

I already bought the package but it's more of a support thing above anything else. I don't care that much about the exp boost + other stuff and I still think it's worth my money.

I get to show my support for them with 40$ and I get the same amount as station cash in return + more, a fair trade I would say. I'm most likely gonna spend money on PS2 anyway (neat customizations ftw lol), so for me, it's definitely worth it.

it depends. if you really feel the bonuses other than the beta entry are worth it you should get it. if you are just waiting for a beta invite then i suggest keep waiting. it will come.

I think it mostly depends on if you want to spend $40 on in-game items later on. If you do, the beta package is worth it since you're basically getting the Camo skins and unlocks for free.

At this point though it is a tough choice, because we don't know what all of the in-game items will be or what they will look like. And we won't have a good idea until closer to release.
