What is PS2 about?

I had many friends that told me about this game and they said its amazing. I also watched some gameplay on youtube. But I still didnt get what is the purpose about PS2. just wanna know little more about it before getting into it. anyone help?

Right now, it's pretty much BF3 + a shit ton of players.

Its more a long the lines of Halo (TTK) and BF3 (Mildly realistic Tanks, Planes, infantry)
