Vehichle Passengers..

I was wondering about vehicle passengers. I know that the driver of the vehichle will need to have the cert for that vehichle in order to drive it. I also know that the passengers of large transport vehichles, such as the galaxy or deliverer, don't need a cert to ride in it, my question is do you need a cert to be a gunner in a vehichle? Sweet! That means all I gotta do is get certs for the one person vehichles (seeing as how toteing around a bunch of other folks doesn't tickle my fancy) and just be a gunner on the rest. PS here I come!!!
