Nice SOE Live coverage, including a heads-up to PSU/Hamma from LevelCap. This guy is a highly recommended YouTuber btw. He's big in the BF3 community for a reason but expect lots of great PS2 videos from him as well: He 's good at the games he's playing but even better at analyzing them on his YouTube channel. |

Seems like a pretty cool guy, will have to subscribe
I'll admit though... his explaination of the tournament at SOE Live almost made me shed a tear, lol "I even spent some time driving Sunderers back into the combat, just so i could immediately spawn in and um... fight guys" That's new school aright. |

I'm a bit worried about this preoccupation with casual players. Does anyone have the following info?
How long do casual players play one game before moving onto another game? What defines casual? Is the industry itself excited about casual players? (if this is so it hints at a fad)

That's entirely a tutorial problem! I'm not against 'casuals' or mindless killing. I'm just worried that we might be chasing ghosts.

I agree, it's a bit overwhelming at first. The menus especially, what base means what, the guns and their differences, all of the implants etc. I have no problem learning them, but I can see where it would be a turn off to a new, virgin planetside player.
The devs have to think and look at some of these things as a teenage outsider, lol. It's hard to do sometimes, but necessary. That is not to say that we can't have customization capabilities because the devs are afraid it would be, "too complicated." Dare I say they just haven't figured out a way to make and incorporate these things in a simpler manner? It's definitely possible without making the game even more shallower. |

Tutorials are what's needed for casuals as well as a fully fleshed mission system. |

We need good tutorials, a mission system, a pimped up map and last but not least a mechanic leading the players/zerg to the fight (IMO we need a lattice therefore) All these issues have nothing to do with more love for casual players. The game itself needs more love. |

would love to see - more conts - poplocks - a map that works (for teamplayers atm it is the worst thing) - training zone for weapon testing - lattice system that works I still don't get why they did not use the concept from PS1 for PS2 and why they made a Battlefield 4 instead |

Ps1 was not so successfull therefore the ps1 mechanics must be shit. On the other hand bf3 was sucessful therefore the bf3 mechanics must be good. |
