If you can't un install it normally, just delete the actual folder.

I thought they were going to come out with a official uninstaller.

I deleted the folder, ran the setup and uninstalled the remainder from there. Seemed to work.

TBH I'm not convinced that the beta client can't just be patched. After all all it's doing is syncing files with the server, most shouldn't need to be replaced if you updated right at the end of beta because they wouldn't have changed. I found the launcher still updates and connects. I'd wait to see what happens before removing it.

I've played other MMOs where they said the beta client wouldn't work after launch, but did just fine :/

The beta is basically all contained in a folder under public. I would figure when it comes out legitly its going to be a legit program somewhere under program files. The installer probobly wont even connect since I am guessing they use a different location for the main game. I have seen several questions asked and all answered with you must delete and redownload, no pre downloading, sorry, deal with it.

It make take a day but for a game that will goes years I think it will be ok.

The location it's installed to doesn't matter as long as all the files are there, you can even copy it to another drive and it will still work (yes I tried it).

I'm just going to wait until tomorrow. If the program doesn't update or "repair" from the launcher available during beta, it'll be no problem to uninstall/delete the beta client and redownload the release client. I won't be getting in too much play time this week anyway... *sigh* Retail. Early hours. Thanksgiving/Black Friday sales. Etc.

Actually... that's probably a good thing.

The Devs have explicitly told us to not just install the Release over Beta, but to uninstall Beta first, so I'd go with their recommendation.

That said, to uninstall:
  1. Delete the PS2Beta install directory
  2. http://help.station.sony.com/app/ans...ail/a_id/36735

I had to resort to deleting the files unfortunately.

Hopefully it doesn't mess anything up with the new client tomorrow.

According to "SOE engineers" it won't. The installer will just overwrite the 2 entries in your registry, which you could do yourself if you really wanted to.

A lot of people have been getting 1001 ERROR. I found if you just do the steps sony listed in a different order it should work.
