Galaxy question


So. Any news on whether or not we will see the deploy update for the galaxy anytime soon?

I'm starting to think Gal pilot is one of my favorite things to do, but unfortunately atm the sunderer gives a ton more xp and also allows me to get out and fight, giving me even more xp when I help out the team or get kills...

When, if we know, will the galaxy be able to deploy in some way or another?

I've heard mixed things on this.. no idea what the plan actually is. I really miss deploy I'd be happy with a deploy even if it didn't spawn.

TBH I thought having an AMS on the galaxy was a bit game braking when it was enabled in beta. Especially when it came down to taking Bio labs and Tech plant.

Having the galaxy as it is now but with better air to ground weapons to help secure the landing is the best way I think.

I mean the Galaxy is still really good for hot drops. We where doing them almost all day to day on Miller with great success.

And if you really need a spawn point you can always hack a ground vehicle terminal and spawn a sunderer.

but thats about all they are good for, hell at times my outfit just uses them as a quick transport to drop in hacking the term and pulling an AMS.

Personally, I don't think AMS Galaxies is a good idea. They completely override the need for Sundy AMSes. Even if the cert was super expensive, it would only be a matter of time before we'd be back at how it was in beta.

I would like to see certs that allow for different roles than just the hotdrop troop transport though (just not the AMS role).

To be more precise:
I'd like to see the entire cargo area as a utility slot. Default utility would be the troop module, like it is now.
Without the troop module, you'd lose the safe hotdrop and the 7 transport seats.
Other modules could be the Loadstar, which can hold one MBT or Sunderer, or 2 Lightnings, or 4 flashes or something like that.
Another module could maybe add 4 more turrets, each facing down and left/right. No safe hotdrop though.
A big honkin radar module maybe?

Lot's of possibilities, all sidegrades into different roles. The key here would be to not have a module make a different vehicle obsolete.

Anyhow, that's just my 2 cents I guess.

I want one of those... But I think a galaxy is at least big enough for 2 MBTs

Great idea!

I'd love to see it become some kind of command center, providing intel when deployed, such as where friendlies are dying. Or when deployed someone could fill a commander role; somewhat like the BF2 commander role where it can launch limited range UAVs, and designate and coordinate more advanced squad/platoon orders.

Thoughts?

On a second thought... Loading in vehicles can't be done. It would be game braking and ruin the Bio labs original thought of making them infantry only inside the dome... If we allow galaxies to load vehicles we can be sure to see the bio labs loaded with them... unfortunately. Not to mention a MBT's on every roof.

Nice idea... But would ruin the game in the long run.
