VS Carbine of choice?

Been using the Nova mostly, but I'm looking to expand my play-style within the LA class as i'm looking to 'main' it.

What is the widely regarded 'best' Carbine to use?

Any opinions?

Im pretty sure this is a carbine if its for the LA class, the VX6-7 gun is considered one of the best if not the best gun in the game. Combined with the soft point ammo and you have a very formidable weapon. It can also be used by the engineer

I tried that earlier, it seemed 'ok' but that was without any attatchments...

Also, nothing seems to be as good as the Trac-5 for TTK/Recoil. Also, whatever the TR medics get seems to have a TTK similar to a shotgun, but from 100m away. :P

Lol that's funny xD I can't use the TR medic's assault rifle worth crap personally, mainly because of the recoil. I'm much better with a carbine. I personally play TR and love the Trac-5, which confuses me, because it seems to out-perform the other TR carbines that cost a bunch.

The TR do seem to have the edge on weapons, i must say.

Although I rarely lose 1v1 with my Lasher.

The Alpha Squad Carbine(Pulsar C) is my best LA weapon for VS. It has some recoil compared to the starter one, but it seems to hit harder, and I can out shoot most TR players. Recoil hampers ranged combat though. It is really good if you abuse the tower jump pads when assaulting a base, as you can land, cut down an enemy or 2 fast, and get away on the next jump pad.

Remember, the guns are side-grades. When you buy a gun, you're not buying a "better" weapon, you're buying something with trade-offs.

So, really, this thread is just asking what carbine seems to work best for everyone.

I used the VX6-7 for a while, but IMO it needs a bigger magazine. For me, it's too tempting to just spray-and-pray, and I found that the high RoF and long-ish reload time ended up getting me killed a bunch. It's a nice weapon, but it takes practice and trigger discipline. If spray-and-pray is your intended style, you may be better served with the Pulsar C because it deals the most damage per magazine for VS carbines.

More recently, I've been alternating between the VX6-7 and the Solstice Burst. I like the SBurst a lot - it fires almost as quick as the 67 and the reload is astonishingly quick.

Right now, I'm saving up for the Solstice SF, which is the only VS carbine that can mount an underbarrel nade launcher.

My favorite new setup in Planetside is LA with C4 and extra nades, and a VX6-7 with laser and reflex-sight. Flying over people's heads and owning them mid-air is so much fun I'm afraid I'll jinx it by even mention it.....then they'll nerf it :/

I'm not even good and I have over 1k kills, mostly with the VX6-7.

I used the stock carbine for a while but my vote goes to the pulsar-c, it hits very hard as long as you can control the recoil ( i find myself aiming around the chest and mousing down as I fire)
