I look forward to them being in, while at the same time do not.
As easy as SOE has made everything, like squad lead not even being tied to leading a squad. I can only imagine the proliferation will be 100% worse than a post br-40 planetside was. |

Everyone knows that orbital strikes are necessary to have in the game just for the fact that they break those long stale mates that can happen between fights. I have already seen this where my outfit will run into a group and we will just get tired of fighting them. The orbital strike also allows out numbered forces to gain a slight upper hand. |

It was a sacred thing. You fired them only if you absolutly needed them, if there was just no other solution. PS1s problem was that the hard part was gaining OSes, not fireing them. PS2 can improve there. Make OSes cost 750 of all 3 Resources, make them require teamwork to fire (one person designates the target, another one does some fancy stuff, third one fires it), make it an expensive cert to gain in the first place, and make it require to be a squad leader or even Platoon leader with at least X people in the Squad/platoon for at least x Minutes/Hours. Make it hard to fire them, and a real cost, and you will see them rarley. |

And where do you get the idea they're tough to regain? And how does it benefit small groups if big groups have and more resources and more resource gain and more people who could potentially have one and you don't? Just saying. It's probably going to be tied to squad leadership, but that doesn't say much, does it? Change squad leader or even disband and reinvite, done... Would mostly be used to blow up AMSes really. |

Haha you have reminded me of my 3 hour clock timings.
If I woke up at 12 I'd launch one then. 1 at 3,6,9,12 and maybee 3 in the morning before bed haha!

I think an OS should be very effective but rare. Just limiting them by time like ps1 would mean they eventually will become common. Given long enough loads of people achieved cr5 and the 3 hour cooldown timer became insignificant with so many people with the ability.
I think they should make some new resource for ps2, call it command xp or reputation or something, that you earn only as a squad/platoon leader by you and your squad members completing objectives. It has a 750 cap so you cant just hoard a load of it and it is used to purchase a range of command abilities that vary in price (like supply or vehicle drops, squad drop pod, reveal enemies, emp) with the most expensive being the OS at 750. I think there should also be a mechanic to stop people from swapping out squad leaders and each saving up the resource like a decay when not in command of a squad. The whole idea being that the actual leaders get access to the powerful command abilities and they are not just something that everyone can eventually get access to by gaining cr5. |

If you use all 3 of your resources your basically useless for everything else (except infantry) so it becomes a last resort. The small groups Im talking about are in the scenario when a tank column rolls up onto a tower, lest use crossroads for instance. If you sneak out with an infiltrator, or traget it on the map (which ever way they use to deploy it) you then make a big OS then you will be able to take out most of the armor and Air in the area. (This is of course assuming they work like the did in PS1 where it would hit only things outside and not inside a building.) You gain your advantage back as they cant hammer the tower as much and it cost them in the end alot of resources as well as a timer if they just steam rolled through broken arch from tarwich. As for your last thing, I think the smaller ones will be used to take out AMSes and the Big hail mary ones will be used to take out armor pushes or camping libs. |

If things stay similar to what has been previously described then there will be multiple levels of OS as well. Smaller ones to disburse a crowd hiding behind cover and much larger ones for, I guess, clearing paths through enemy armour/spawn points.
I'd be happy for them to be on a single timer, shorter re-use for the smaller and longer for the larger ones but all on the same timer. Add to this using up some or all of your infantry resource each time it is fired plus you have to be leading a squad. |
