So I've scoured the interwebs thoroughly for a place to purchase one of these online (including most obviously gamestop.com), and have come up short. I then decided to go to two pretty popular GameStop locations (in two different states, mind you, when I was out of town for the holiday and when I was back home). The staff there looked at me like I'm crazy and didn't even know what PlanetSide 2 was.
Why do you make it so difficult for me to give you money, SOE? And while we're on topic, do some more marketing/advertising! Seriously, though, has anyone seen one of these cards at their local GameStop location, or does anyone know where I can actually buy one of these cards (online even)? Thanks! |

My bro and I found them at the GameStop near us, its a pretty good deal with the bonus, I absolutely love the NS11, great accuracy and range. Just keep looking I guess, they're out there. best of luck.

They still are selling these game cards for it, and I think they should still have a general knowledge of current games. Honestly though I blame SOE more for the lack of promoting the game to people that never heard of it before. The "advertising," for lack of a better word, was pretty low key for the original game as well and as a result people who didn't play it didn't really know about it.

I work at a gamestop as my second job. The card can be found there but it can also be kinda rare at times because its not something there is a great demand for so we only get a couple of cards at a time.
As for the "ignorant" part thats more on SOE than gamestop. Other bigger developers send us tons of promotional stuff and send reps to the annual managers meeting to hype up their products and make us aware of them and what they do. SOE as with most PC developers has little to no showing at these things. They dont send over reps, they dont give us informational stuff about the game, they dont do anything. And gamestop also does not make an effort to learn about them either. And the reason for this is because PC games are not something gamestop is overly interested in because there is no real money in it compared to console games. Like 80% of gamestop sales is from used products that we buy from people and then resell. You cant resell PC games. And because of that gamestop as a company cares very little about PC gaming and only stocks the big name titles like starcraft, wow, diablo, the sims, etc. There is also the fact that PS2 is a free to play game and there is nothing besides station cash cards that we can sell for it. And again gamestop makes little money of of those cards. And also people need to learn that just because I work at a gamestop does not mean I know everything about every game ever made. I know about the popular mainstream titles because thats what we sell as a retailer and thats what I need to know to do my job. If you come at me asking about some niche title(which ps2 is when looking at gaming in general) then yeah you will get a lot of confused looks just like you would if you asked your average gamer that question. This is like me walking up to you and asking some off the wall questions about hello kitty island adventure or some other random title. People need to keep that in mind. |

Thanks for the info, that is mostly what I figured. I doubt I'll have much luck with local GameStops, so I'm kind of hoping we see this online at some point. Do you know if there's a given day of the week that all/most GameStop's get shipments in? Figuring Wednesday or something. Just wondering when I should bother them to see if they have it.

I bought two of them on black friday from my local gamestop. The front desk dweeb didnt have a clue. The burnout hippy manager knew though and had to go in back and unbox them and break open the package to sell them to me..... Never accept what the guy behind the counter at the game stop says. ESPECIALLY when it comes to Computer games. They dont deal in computer games, and rarely do they have any idea what is coming on PC or been released on PC, but they can tell you about the freckles on a soldiers arse in Halo. I may be just lucky though with my gamestop as I think the manager dude is actually a PC gamer or at least keeps track of them as well. But I have shopped gamestops across half a dozen states the above is always held true for myself. |

I feel sorry for Gamestop if the rumors are true about the next gen consoles having keys for all games like they are starting to do with some games now on console.
Of course I say that, but I also feel sorry for all the money that developers/publishers never see because of Gamestops re-selling of used games. It's going to be interesting to see how this all turns out next year with the Xbox 720 rumored to be officially announced at E3 and releasing 4th quarter next year. Anyway, on topic my local Gamestop had 20 or so of these cards in stock because no one knew what they were. When I asked to see if they had them the clerk didn't know what they were, but they did help me find them. Good luck to you guys looking for them. I would try the smaller gamestops because the larger ones usually run out of popular things faster. |

I don't know if you have a Gamestop near you, but you can call and see if they have them in stock.
I do have to ask why you want it? Do you really see that weapon as a better option for you? Perhaps for a specific class you play? You can buy it outright in game. Is it more worth it with the card? Of course, the best answer is, buy the card and then wait until at least a double Station Cash day to cash in for it.

Yeah I picked them up on black friday because it was a double station cash day. The actual gun...I didnt think was that great a thing, and only difference is that the card one has a shinier skin on it. |
