Most of us know the drawbacks of NC guns. People, including myself, believe a small adjustment is needed, BUT, maybe the answer lies not within NC gun adjustments, but a change to the other empire's guns.
Notably, increase their horizontal and vertical recoil a bit. If you think about it, it would make sense as these guns are shooting more bullets in the same amount if time, so obviously they should have more recoil. But from a more pragmatic approach, this will change things without making everyone whine that the NC guns are overpowered if they do change things, regardless if they really are or not. Let the other empires have to deal with the same amount if recoil and COF, they still shoot faster, so in my eyes, it would equal things out without having to deal with more opposite whining. |

Also if a TR weapon has a grip any benefit NC gain from having a grip is nullified. Last edited by FuzzyandBlue; 2012-11-29 at 08:48 PM. |

Well, I mentioned this before. There are two ways to skin a cat, buff the dead cat or nerf the butcher. Either way solves the problem IMO, although either method is going to piss off someone no matter what happens.

Anyone heard of Tap Firing over there? Heard it's pretty effective -_-
You guys do a lot of damage per bullet, so therefore, you SHOULDN"T win short range fight because of your short rate of fire. Why would the devs make everyone's guns on equal terms for recoil, for long range, for short range, etc.? Don't get it. |

When one empire has to resort to "tap firing" sort of reinforces what I'm trying to convey.
Listen, you cannot win this argument. I'll be blunt. Try as you may, but you'll lose. Last edited by Beerbeer; 2012-11-29 at 10:04 PM. |

I don't know. This argument has been going on for a while and I really don't know what to say even if the numbers have been presented as facts regarding what is 'the best of the best'. All I can say is, based on my experiences NC weapons are by far the most difficult to use. But once you get the hang of them they're actually pretty slick (at least the carbines).
Its a lot like playing Counter Strike. Just aim, fire off a round or two, and usually that is enough to put a lot of people down. The only difference would be against heavy assault. In which case, it might take another round or two. The only problems I have are shooting at longer ranges. But switching to single shot mode can compensate for that or merely switching to my pistol. FYI I play light assault almost all the time. The only weapon I have a problem with is the Carv and one VS weapon which escapes me. Weapon imbalances are pretty easy to work with though as it really all depends on the skill of the player really. And I don't want to say I'm awesome or whatever but the other night I played for a couple of hours and finished with 74/10 as LA. Though last I checked my K/D was around 2-3:1 Regardless of what happens people are going to complain. I remember when they buffed the Lasher for the first time in PS1 and people both TR/NC were spazzing hardcore all over the place. And now the Lasher is a joke (as are Magmowers, rofl). Don't get me wrong though, I'm the exact same way. I suck so freaking much at shooters (I love Planetside for its strategy and comradery). I'm lucky to get one or two kills before getting sniped or knifed or just shot before I had time to react, yet I play it anyways. All I'm saying is, it's alright to blame the guns, I sure did at first, but eventually we'll need to realize that maybe... P.E.B.K.A.C. |

Yes, I also think that increasing recoil or cof for vs and tr makes more sense than to buff nc. Ttk is low enough, no need to go even lower.
The best indicator that something is wrong with balance is that you don't see tr or vs cry about their weapons. In beta they did, but after release...everything is quiet.

What?
Have you tried with a TR LA gun to kill the NC at medium range with out a grip? You have to go single shot - even burst fire you lose one or two shots to the wind. I see NC gauss saws nailing me from 150m when my Amc will tickle their ballsack with its spread. |

I mean, the TR SABR-13 is probably the closest we have to an NC weapon, and I LOVE the thing even with it's two-round burst! |

Each side has that range they excel at and often complain about the other sides weapons. I have heard the argument that based on sides the TR have more kills than any other. Every day we fight defenses that have NC and VS attacking from two different sides. In fact just last night we had NC coming in one door and the VS the other; very amusing. I have said it before and ill say it again; if you find your dying allot maybe the faction you have chosen doesn’t fit your play style.
