As I understand it both heal you for 100% of your health (correct me if I am wrong), but the only difference is that the restoration kit heals over time while the medkit is instant. If this is correct, then what advantage does the restoration kit have over the medkit? The medkit seems to have a clear advantage.

I think maybe medkits are more expensive in terms of cert and resource cost.
Instant health might seem like an advantage too, but if you're already in cover anyway waiting for your shield to regen, using a restoration kit isn't going to be an issue. At least that's how I figure it. |

Get the Resto kit. It heals over time. I have the med kit which costs more.
I choose poorly. For more expense I get a large heal, yes. However, considering the extreme TTK, there is no time to switch to the med kit to heal while in combat. Therefore you will mostly be healing up under cover. That being said if you run behind cover and are being chased, then the med kit might be worth it if the enemy is 2 seconds from turning the corner on you. But mostly you will have the time necessary for the Resto kit to work.
