Teamwork in Planetside 2

Alright, so I've had two bad encounters in PS2 which are indicators as to bad team work of some sort...?

I am Vanu on Woodman EU, I've had two encounters with sunderers that I tried to escort on my Flash but what happend... twice? They mount their turrets and kill me... WHAT?!

Why would you kill your escort? It's mindbogglingly silly, my flash has a gun on it so I feel I'm a valuable escort for a transport but why... and twice in a row? First it happend days after the game came out, I was escorting a lonely sunderer from the Warpgate to a battlezone, but he said I was -too- close so he killed me... what?

Second time, happend just now when I slid down a hillside, down to the road BEHIND the sunderer and was about to turn to him and escort him to his destination along with Magriders around us and other flashes... but he kills me. I can only deduce he was in a outfit along with the other guys and just didn't want me there? Which is still silly, why would you kill people just cause they arent in your outfit/squad?

I'm a reasonable man, but PS2 is a team-based game, you cant play solo and expect to take bases... perhaps outposts but its a TEAM-based game.

I can only assume people are still in the Call of Duty/BF3 style of playing which is solo, this game isn't about solo...

Opinions, friends? Why would they kill me like that... twice? And it wasnt even the same person aswell.

Sad state of affairs. I've been killed by solitary griefers a few times; but not often enough for it to be more than a passing annoyance - accidental team kills far more common.

As to why - goodness only knows - perhaps to boost their egos to make up for their inadequacies in the real world?

Jerks going to be jerks.

Best bet is is squading up. Hop between a couple until you find one with a bit of comms going back anf forth.

Can't agree with the general sentiment anymore. It sucks there are noobs out there that pull this on ya, no doubt. Anyhow, a squad is always a better idea because at least there is a little bit of accountability.

Wow, tenuous link to blaming CoD/BF for random griefers in a game. I didn't think people's hate of those two (very specific) game series could get any more illogical, but there we go.

They MAY not have realised you were friendly, opened fire and killed you accidentally. It's happened to me in infantry fights, some of the camos can be confusing and the IFF indications aren't 100% reliable.

Or they might just have been being jerks. Unfortunately such people exist.

Yeah, happened to me yesterday...I actually landed my 'skeeter on one of those mountain top OBJ's in Amerish. I seen one lone guy, and figured I'd land and give the guy a hand flipping the thing. So, what does he do? Shoots me right before the thing flips. Like, point blank range, no mistaking me for the other faction as I sat there with him for several minutes...

Oh, I have played both CoD and the BF series for years...and I never pull that kinda crap. We're not all 'mountain wookies' in Valdez, brah.

But we were in our base, full of Vanu people! Its just bizzare... sure I've played wow for 8 years, I get these things alot and FPS games.

Obviously not blaming "all" CoD/BF players, I played BF too once :P But some tend to be egoistic bastards that try to solo everything as if they're Rambo.
