Hello,
I´m new in this game and play as a Vanu engeneer. 1) What are the most important Certs for new Players? I´ve already bought a Scope for the Solstice, many small certs for 1 Point, and the Spawn ability for the Sunderer. What should i buy next? 2) Which Ammunition is the best? Is it useful to buy another ammunition? 3) How useful is forward Grip? The Solstice has a Cert called Forward Grip. I have problems to control the Weapon in in automatic mode, so i use it in semi-automatic. Should i buy that Cert? |

If you think your Sunderer could use a boost, get the armor plating. (50 certs) If you play Infiltrator, put a Suppressor on your pistol, and consider one for your main weapon. In fact, consider one for any of your weapons as Vanu don't have bullet drop. Get IR smoke for your Lightning. It will give you a great edge in combat, especially since you may not have a weapon, chassis or armor for it yet.(50 certs) Get Restoration Kit under First Aid Certifications. It's Universal, so all your classes will get it. It refills all your hp over time. Set it to auto-refill as well as your grenades. (30 certs) Shade is right, upgrade your repair and healing tool.
I'll post any more I can think of. And always ask the forums if a purchase is worth it. |

Ok, thank you all.
I noticed that other versions of the Solstice can have a additional Shotgun and Grenade Launcher, should i purchase one of them to get one of these certs? Are they useful? Can i use my Scope on other Weapons of the same type, too? |

But if you (for example) got a sight/scope for the Solstice, both the LA and the engie would have it because they share carbines. |

If you're playing engie, I would strongly suggest certing into mines.
Get some proximity mines and place them in doorways leading to objectives to help you defend capture points or generators (or during assaults place them to help take out defenders). Tank mines are also great for taking out enemy sunderers (if you can sneak up on one, drop 2 tank mines under it to instantly destroy it) or mining roads to eliminate enemy vehicles. Two tank mines will kill any vehicle in the game and just one will do serious damage. This is extreamly useful since one tank can take out whole squads of infantry and any way to take out the tank will help. On that note, vehicles are important in this game so repairing them as an engineer helps out your side, just be careful because the driver can't always tell where you are and in a firefight they WILL have dodge incoming enemy fire and in doing so will likely run you over if you're not careful. Magriders are tough in this regard because they can move in all directions. As engie, you can repair MAXs and as Medic you can revive MAXs, like vehicles, these guys are great in a firefight so keep them in top shape. You can also get a ton of experience and certs by just running around repairing stuff that was damaged or destroyed in the battle, turrets, terminals, generators, etc. The MANA turret you have is best used indoors, particularly around corners. Deploying a turret out in the open will just attract snipers or vehicle fire. On the other hand, it can be a great distraction for this reason and can act as an obstacle to stop enemy tanks. As for other classes, Infiltrators can hack terminals which means you can conceivably sneak into an enemy base (really easy if it's behind enemy lines and empty of defenders), hack a vehicle terminal, and then spawn a sunderer to act as a mobile spawn point for your squad. Park it in the base, hack everything, destroy the generators, and let your squad know so they can come in for an easy capture. Infiltators also get proximity mines like the engineer (they have to be certed separately though) and have the advantage of being able to hack enemy terminals to resupply from. Don't really know much about other classes, but I just saw this video featuring Light Assault in action. Basically, light assault lets you fly and get into positions the enemy might not be expecting. Also, C4 can be attached to vehicles and remotely detonated. Personally, I think explosives are awesome in this game since it gives vehicles something to worry about and lets you defend points easier. |

I use the VX6-7 Carbine with 3.4X scope and forward grip. (this weapon can be used for the light assault as well).
Some people prefer the laser sight to be more accurate firing from the hip. I find I am generally firing from the hip when using the carbine. Some people may prefer the serpent due to rate of fire. Upgrade armor (I upgraded my shield regen to maximum). Upgrade repair tool. Mine is upgraded to level 3. I use proxy mines a lot. Learn who to place mana turrets to cover two doors on either side of a room if defending a point. Since the engi is a easy to kill target very similar to the infiltrator, having defense is important e.g proxy mines and a decent carbine. |
