PS1 Base Layout in PS2

I understand the developers have done a lot since the beta to try to make a great game based on player feedback. Indeed, a lot has been done since the beta but one thing a lot of people have been begging for is for a base like this:

The developers obviously have their own reasons why they didn't implement it and it is understandable, but please could we at least have a base similar to PS1 bases to just test out? Give it doors and try to stick to how it use to be and let us try it out just to see if it doesn't really work. It seriously looks awesome and this is something we've been asking for since the beta.

Is there any chance something like this could be implemented even if it is not textured properly? Just something for us to play with and see if it is really all that hyped up for good reasons or just a wasted effort? Just a week long test or something? With a basement, backdoor, etc? And if we can't, why not?

I wasn't in the beta early enough to see these. I would at least like to see them try out more defensible bases that could be defended with a single squad.

Give squads a fight on the order of "tower defense" where yes, the zerg can take it from you but only if they reach a critical point of either operational cohesiveness or sheer numbers.

Then you give this game a "WoW raid" level of fights for non zerg outfits of 10-25 online members. Also make these fights worthwhile exp wise defensively either through dynamic exp or shared exp. (hell even give outfits the capability of loot (exp) distribution on their own terms). I never ran DKP based raids but some guilds found they worked the best.

This was actually from an early alpha, we never got to test this out in the beta at all. It was removed before we got the chance to try it out. Also, there already is a tower in the game which requires sheer numbers to take, it's the Crown ;p But no seriously. This wasn't in the beta.

I would love to have a bubble shield like there were on PS1, maybe make one facility outside the base keep it alive or something.

It would make base defense more fun when you don't get carpet bombed by a lib to the stone-age everytime you go outside.

Hell, the AMP base has generators for the gate doors, give em two more for an overhead shield as well. Add to the courtyard fighting of an amp station. The AMP station is uniquely setup to support this... would make the courtyard battles of amp stations pretty epic, without creating the problems of a tech plant grind (double-doors) since it would be more spread out.

Maybe add an overhead shield to the tech plant covering the spawn to the double-doors on the tech plant. Would protect from air, but not tanks... again setup generators in the outlying buildings to disable it.
